Your child should have their first eye exam by the age of 6 months. This is an important time in their visual development as they are beginning to acquire eye movement control and eye-hand coordination skills. Our team of skilled optometrists are able to complete a comprehensive vision test even if your child doesn’t yet know their ABCs.

These eye exams are important for early identification of potential visual problems. If left untreated, certain childhood ocular problems can cause permanent vision loss.

Our number one priority is to protect your child’s eye health. Our eye specialists are able to conduct vision tests designed specifically for children, using shapes and pictures to accurately assess eye health.

Annual eye exams are extremely important for our senior patients. Adults who are over the age of 60 are more prone to chronic eye disorders including:

  • Cataracts
  • Glaucoma
  • Age related Macular Degeneration

An eye exam can also uncover symptoms of significant health problems including blocked arteries, hypertension, high cholesterol and diabetes. So regular vision tests are a simple and effective way to protect your eye and overall health.

We provide a range of eye care services to help detect and manage such ocular problems. These include our cataract management services and diabetic retinal screenings.

School-Age Children

Clear and comfortable vision plays a key role in your child’s learning which is why it’s recommended that all school children undergo annual vision tests.

It may be difficult for your child to notice that they have a vision problem, so it’s important that as a parent, you are aware of certain symptoms which could indicate a potential vision issue. These include:

  • Performing below their potential
  • Frustration/Irritation
  • Unusual posture
